Our commitment
HealthNaro wants everyone to be able to find a clinic and read our information, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control, and people with limited reading time or a slow connection.
Standard and status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Conformance status:
What we have done
- Every form field has a visible label and clear error messages next to the field.
- Every page has one main heading, a logical heading order, breadcrumbs and a skip-to-content link.
- Keyboard focus is visible on every link, button and field; menus and the cookie banner can be operated by keyboard.
- Colour contrast in our design system is checked against the AA threshold; information is never conveyed by colour alone.
- Meaningful images have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The current page is marked in navigation; verification, sponsored and demonstration labels are text, not icons alone.
- Pages work at phone width without horizontal scrolling and at 200 per cent zoom.
- Plain British English and short sentences throughout; the interface can be switched between languages where translations are complete.
Known limitations
- Provider-supplied images may lack good alternative text until we review them.
- Maps on profile pages are an external embed; the address and directions are also given in text.
- Some imported descriptions are translations and may read less smoothly than the original, which is available on the page.
